20mm chip to tail of spine; tape repair along spine compensating for a 25mm chip to centre of spine, bottom 130mm of spine is torn, joining a 90mm horizontal tear without loss across the front cover; front cover is detached from spine; edges of text block lightly toned and foxed; mild edgewear, light creasing and faint marking to wraps; age toning and moderate spotting to matte pages, gloss pages are mostly clean and bright. Art in Australia was an Australian art magazine founded by Sydney Ure Smith and Bertram Stevens and published between 1916 and 1942. A section of this issue was devoted to the reproduction of Australian bookplates and includes designs by both Lionel and Norman Lindsay.
