Spine a touch cocked; head and tail of spine gently pushed; corners very gently rounded; edges lightly rubbed with small patches of faint soiling; edges of text block a little age toned with minor foxing, top edge dust toned; binding has split between the first and second title pages however book is firmly holding together; light foxing to endpapers, first six and last two pages; very occasional spotting throughout, otherwise clean and bright; glassine cover lightly scuffed and toned along top edge. Lawrence gave to his time in the Royal Air Force at Mount Batten under the command of Wing Commander Sydney Smith, husband of Clare Sydney Smith, the author of this book. Includes a foreword by Lawrence's mother and a signed, tipped in photograph of the author dated April 1955.
