First edition of Orwell's classic dystopian novel. Since Donald Trump’s ascension to the American Presidency Nineteen Eighty-four has enjoyed a resurgence of popularity and hit the top of best-seller lists in the US and elsewhere. It was first issued in two states of wrappers - identical in every respect except the colour - one red, one green. Precedence has not been established, but the red is less common and therefore usually a more sought after. This copy may have originally had the red wrpapper as the top edge dye is a faded red. The new red and green endpapers a nod to the two original wrappers.
