Robert Grieve (1924 - 2006) made significant contributions to the Australian contemporary art scene during his life time. His work was influenced by the art of Japan, China and South America, and by his early career as a scientist. In this monograph Ellis studies the work of Grieves over fifty years, marking where Grieves responds to and diverges from the influences of the times.
