Fransella is a contemporary abstract and figurative artist who exhibits regularly in Australia. His work has been selected for the Archibald, Wynne, Sulman and Dobell Drawing Prizes at the Art Gallery of NSW and, in 2000, 2006, 2007, 2009 and 2011 he won the Wynne Trustees Watercolour Prize. In his artist’s statement on his website he says, “"I have always had a liking for images which engage the eye and drawings that are spontaneously arrived at rather than pre-ordained. Pictures may appear simple, initially, but they reveal much more after contemplation. A good picture should be able to bear lots of looking at."
