John Cale (1942 - ) Welsh musician, composer, singer, songwriter and record producer, was a founding member in 1965 of the American rock band Velvet Underground which he left in 1968. He has worked in many musical styles including rock, drone, classical, avant-garde and electronic music. This covers his childhood, his life working with Lou Reed and Andy Warhol as well as his later solo career and work with other artists.
