The 1st Mountain Battery was an Australian Army artillery battery that was raised in July 1942. It included horsemen from other Light Horse Units. It served in the Battle of Buna–Gona and the Salamaua–Lae campaign in 1942–43. Equipped with Short 25-pounder guns it was added to the 1st Parachute Battalion in August 1944, though it saw no action in this role, and was disbanded in 1946.
