Jack Hibberd is a playwright and physician best known for his popular musical Dimboola (1968). Le Vin Des Amants is his first collection of poetry and it is redolent with wit and "reeks of suicide and sex" ("Épigraphe pour un livre condamné", p.7).The monoprints by David Fitts are also a response to Baudelaire and a fitting complement to Hibberd's poetry.
