Earth Battle is Dorothy Cottrell’s second Queensland pastoral novel. It holds relevance today as it depicts the difficulties involved in making a living off the land in Queensland. Published as Tharlane in the United States of America in the same year, it is unclear which volume is the true first edition; as Cottrell sailed to California in 1928, it is likely that the U.S. Edition is a true first.
