A very good copy and one of three variant bindings we have handled. The adventure story follows the adventures of two young men who are shipwrecked after a mutiny on an uninhabited part of Australia, meet Aborigines, find their way to "civilisation" and strike gold. Born in New South Wales, Bowes (1852-1928) was a Methodist Minister who spent most of his working life in Queensland and northern Australia. The work is dedicated to his cousin James Glass who published 'Pals' the author's first work.
