Author's first poetry collection. Inscribed ""With warmest regards" and signed by the author's wife in 1929. Scottish-born Mathew, came to Australia when he was 16 and became President of the Australian Literature Society in the early 1920s. He resigned from this office in 1922 after being appointed Moderator-General of the Presbyterian Church of Australia 1922-1924. [Source AustLit]. He was noted for his research into Australia's Aborigines and published three volumes of verse.
