Leather lacking from spine; corners rubbed and abraded; endpapers foxed and soiled; some of the photographs slightly faded; gift inscription to first leaf. Item #15248
A gift "From Mother", the album includes scenes from Durban (lighthouse, steam vessels, town hall) followed by many more from Pietermauritzburg including a "Church Parade" at Fort Napier. While most of the photos are exteriors of buildings there is included an impressive pipe organ, some landscape shots (waterfalls and rivers) and two kraals. Apart from two studio shots (a Zulu warrior and Zulu policeman), and two families gathered outside their kraal, humans are largely absent or blending into the landscape.
