One of the most important and finely produced literary magazines to have been published in Australia. It combined substantial literary review articles with original literary contributions from English language writers including Virginia Woolf, Norman Lindsay, Lionel Lindsay, Walter De La Mare, Kenneth Seaforth Mackenzie, Rex Ingamells, Mary Gilmore and many more. Many photo illustrations of authors. Production ceased at the start of WWII; the penultimate edition carrying, along with a review of Patrick White's first novel Happy Valley, an advertisement for the unexpurgated translation of Mein Kampf by Adolf Hitler.
