A history of the John Mills Himself building, the printer John Mills, and some of the businesses (and collectives) that have occupied the building over 100 years. The John Mills Himself Building at 40 Charlotte Street in the heart of Brisbane's central business district dates from 1919 and is heritage listed. A printery for at least 50 years, it was also home to other small business people including popular Australian author of the early 1900s Steele Rudd. Later it was occupied by artists and architects. For the past 40 years it has been home to The Australian Koala Foundation and for 36 years home to Archives Fine Books.
