Purchased by Jones from Bent Books in October 2000 for $15 (pencil price, since erased). Text has been underlined and marked with his signature spirals and squiggles. Two diary entries at the close of the novel, the first dated December 3rd (presumably 2000) and the second dated 30/10/07. It was Jones' practice to diarise in the books he read as well as in his official journals, most of which no in the Fryer Library UQ, and about 10 in the Defence Forces Library in Canberra. Kerouac was one of Jones's influences, along with Walt Whitman and Vincent Van Gogh.
