Sir Frederick Richard Jordan (1881-1949) was Chief Justice of New South Wales and also Lieutenant-Governor of that State.

This collection of virulent anti-German poems followed the First World War and caused much debate among literary circles. The work was much admired by Norman and Lionel Lindsay according to Axel Clark in his biographical work on Brennan.
